I love how this one came out, I've never had such luck with a mane or tail, though neither are as nice as I wish they could have been. I'm also starting to figure out how to do my signature on the tablet, but for the next few uploads it might change a bit till I really can figure out one I like. I like this one, but my PS doesn't want to register it as a brush because of it being white. Oops, so i'll go in and probably darken it until it does. But anyways, so this is Rosabella, the daughter of my stallion, Ciro, and Abba's mare, Res, on FS. But, anyways - you know how it works: IF YOU FAVE IT, COMMENT OR CRITIQUE IT! I get better by your suggestions pointing out bits and pieces to help me along the way.

First off, I find this piece to be very beautiful and I love that you decided to do something relatively different by incorporating the horse into a night-time, rough ocean scene.
Your painting is lovely, the markings on the horse are well placed and blend nicely with the angles, colors, and shading. I love how you continued up the flanks with them too instead of staying in the "safe" areas ike the already shady underside of the belly.
I feel that the tail could use a tad bit more darkening to match the overall lighting of this scene. Based on the placement of the moon and the lighting on the horse in other areas (back, mane) I feel the tail stands out too much, like someone had a flash bulb lol Likewise, some highlighting on the mane juuuust a tad, to bring the light off the water in that area up and into your subject would help balance your lighting. I feel like overall, the lighting is just off a little. Dark or less contrasted in some areas, and brighter and more contrasted in others and the two don't match for the light source being used here.
Finally, I love the reflection in the water, but I'm having a hard time telling where reflection begins and legs end. The chaotic push and pull of the stormy waves would cause a less direct reflection, so perhaps play on that a little bit and make the edges from reflection to body a tad more clear this way. It would also be helpful to add a very light amount of ocean spray around the legs near the water. Waves, no matter how tiny, make a splash when hitting a solid object.
Finally, your signature placement threw me off, I understand the necessity of it, but I feel like it could have been placed better so as to still be visible and in an important place, but without detracting from the subject as much.

Overall though I find this piece quite stunning :] I enjoy the colors and your choice in stock is superb. Beautiful job painting the mane/tail and markings, as well as coloring the horse itself and getting its colors to suit the dark blues of the background. Very very nice.
